ANDERSON - McDonald County High school principal Angie Brewer is rewarding students with perfect attendance and passing grades with the opportunity to see Hocus Pocus 2 at the Flick Theater in Anderson.

Brewer said she wants to acknowledge and give the students an opportunity to celebrate their hard work, so those students know that they are being noticed for what they are doing.

“We’re not just trying to catch people doing the wrong thing,” Brewer said. “We want to notice the people that are working on their grades are working on their attendance. You just have to be trying your best.”

Kelsie Lilly, an employee at the Flick Theater, explains her thoughts on the high school trip.

“Just being able to keep their grades up,” Lilly said, sitting back in her chair. “I hope they can keep this in their minds to keep their grades up and hopefully have more opportunities like this in the future.”

Lilly also noted this event will bring light to the theater and may bring in more reliable employees.

“My bosses especially look to the high school for new workers,” Lilly said.

The Flick is looking for good, hardworking students to employ, introducing them to the retail theater industry.

The Flick Theater, located on Main Street in Anderson, is open Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m.
